Life since I met Geshe Thupten Dorjee

I know I said I was not going to post for a while but SURPRISE....  I decided writing this post was much more fun then studying for my accounting test. LOL

I started this blog before I stumbled upon Kundalini yoga, since I have done yoga my view on life and money has dramatically changed.  In the past I let the green piece of paper control my entire life. My lack of money was ruining me. I was not happy, I gained a lot of weight, and my marriage was falling apart. It was all because I truly believed I would not be happy until I made more money. That was one reason I took a long break from blogging.

I have been going to yoga at Sage Hills Healing for over a year and I my life has changed drastically. Melanie, my teacher, took me to LA with her to do White Tantric, I have met some pretty cool yogi's like Gurunam Singh , I love his mantra's, they touch my heart. The most influential person I met was Geshe Thupten Dorjee, he is a Tibetan Buddhist monk, who teaches at the University of Arkansas. Geshe La, is an amazing man, he is so kind and caring. He is always smiling and wants to have a good time.

He was invited by the SUU to come speak at the convocations and teach during some of the humanities courses. During his stay my husband and I had the opportunity to take him sight seeing. We took him to Lion's mouth, Parowan Gap, and we had lunch at the Market Grill. A nice redneck lunch, as he called it. Being in his presence changes you, even my dogs went crazy over him. Geshe posted this video, one of his students made, to Facebook. The video is amazing! When you have 25 minutes you have to watch it.

Anyway, my whole point to this post is to let you all know that there is more to life then money! When you stop letting dollars control you, you do great things, and meet amazing people because that's what happened to me.

A Little Insipiration

Today I am posting because I found some inspiration is this stressful time I am having. It's the last month of school. I will not be posting much during the next month because I have to keep balance in my life.

Anyway, this morning I was going though my blog list and clicked on Lana's blog, The Truth About Blondes. She posted an inspiring video from an LDS church leader. In previous posts she talked about how her mom has had a brain tumor removed and how she struggles with anxiety. Sometimes during hard times we have to find anything we can to make it.

I hope Lana's family the best and will pray for them. It's nice to know I am not alone and know that other people struggle with anxiety.
