Shocking...  I can't believe so few people actually vote. You can read the full report HERE.

I remember the first time I ever voted, it was like Christmas, I was so excited.  I registered to vote on campus, the person from the politics center was very enthusiastic. She really made me excited to participate in my god given right as a US. citizen. I filled out the form and I  received my voter registration card a week before an election. I didn't know how  use it or even where to go. I remembered seeing the pollsters during an election when I was in high school so I decided to go to Cedar High School and maybe somebody there would point me in the right direction of where to go. The ladies working that night were very helpful and told me my precinct and the correct location .

When I got there I didn't know what to do, the voting machines were confusing and I  my vote before I even got to see the candidates. I seriously thought I ruined the machine. Go figure. I told the pollsters what I did and they let me fill out a provisional ballot. I didn't even know those existed before that day. I was given one of those, I Voted, stickers and was on my way. I was so excited to find out the results of the election. I felt so mature. The next day I went to class and my professor  was talking about the election results. He asked us to raise our hands to show how many of us actually voted and I was the only student that voted. I was so shocked I was the sole voter. This day I decided I am always going to vote and over the years I have found out the importance of it, especially in local elections.

If  you are registered to vote, don't forget the local election on November 5th.
